We are so grateful to have our favorite people by our side as we celebrate one of the happiest moments of our lives. Having everyone together is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we're delighted to host you in the cities we call home.

We've planned a wedding weekend across Hong Kong and Macau, bringing together the traditions that mean the most to us alongside unforgettable moments with our family and friends.

This website has everything you'll need to know, including our itinerary, dress codes, and travel information. We'll continue to update the website as April draws closer.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all!

With love,

Our Story

Our story began in the fall of 2016 as freshmen at Columbia University. We know that Model UN is how we met, but still disagree on when we met. Ezra says it was during the first conference staff meeting when he asked her a question about where to go. Gill says she noticed him across the room during travel team tryouts the next day and was so intimidated by his knowledge of what to do that she didn’t introduce herself until the next meeting a week later. In any event, we quickly became friends and found ourselves hanging out all the time—late nights in the library, karaoke in K-town, weekly MUN meetings, and so on.

In the spring of our freshman year, on the 2AM walk home from another MUN party, Gill asked Ezra, “So where are we?” to which he, observing she was drunk and lost, responded “106th and Amsterdam.” (I WAS NOT LOST – Gill). Flash forward one year to a party in Panama (sponsored by MUN) and Ezra finally asked Gill out. Too stunned to speak, she kissed him.

The next two years were cool, until COVID kicked off five years of long distance (nevermind Ezra taking a job in San Francisco and Gill in Hong Kong—we blame COVID). Here’s the timeline we somehow made it through:

April 2020

Ezra returns to Michigan, Gill to Hong Kong, we graduate over zoom (lame). The 12-hour time difference dates begin (Ezra makes fresh pasta, and Gill makes… something).

June 2021

Ezra moves to San Francisco. 15-hour time difference dates (Gill’s FaceTime calls are Ezra’s alarm clock).

December 2021

Gill comes to visit for New Year's. Hong Kong puts a travel ban on the US the day before her return flight so she has no choice but to stay (oh nooo…).

May 2022

Gill returns to HK. 15-hour time difference dates resume.

August 2022

Gill starts at Columbia Law. 3-hour time difference dates.

August 2023

Ezra starts at Wharton. It’s 2 hours door-to-door so we dub this “medium distance".

May 2025

Ezra and Gill graduate on the same day (whoops). Ezra moves back to NYC. Zero-hour time difference dates resume.

One last date to note: August 31, 2025

Ezra spent nearly three hours at the HK airport Tsui Wah Restaurant until he “had to turn on airplane mode” (turn off location sharing) in a scheme to trick Gill into thinking that he had flown home. Then, with the help of Hilary, Fwinny and Zoe (with a noble attempt to assist from Darren and Denton), he returned to the city and proposed. Once again, Gill was too stunned to speak - but this time, managed to stammer out a yes.

Thank you all for being a part of our love story. Whether you knew us from childhood, or met us in high school, college, at work, grad school, or beyond... you mean the world to us and it simply would not be our wedding without you.

After a sunset boat ride in the Victoria Harbour, we will disembark for casual drinks and bites at the Aberdeen Marina Club. This is where Gill’s figure skating career began and quickly died because she was too heavy to achieve liftoff.

PASSPORT & VISA

Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. US citizens do not need a visa for tourism up to 90 days for Hong Kong and up to 30 days for Macau, but please check the latest entry requirements for both Hong Kong and Macau before traveling.

GETTING AROUND HONG KONG

Hong Kong is easy to explore using taxis, Uber, and the excellent MTR railway network.

An Octopus Card can be used on trains, buses, ferries, and at many convenience stores.

LANGUAGE

English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are widely spoken throughout Hong Kong.

In Macau, you'll also hear Portuguese alongside Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

FLIGHTS

Hong Kong International Airport is one of Asia's major aviation hubs with direct flights from many cities around the world.

We recommend booking your flights as early as possible.

WEATHER

April is generally warm and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 26°C (68°F to 79°F).

We recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl for the evenings and a small umbrella just in case.

ELECTRICITY

Both Hong Kong and Macau use Type G electrical outlets (220V), the same plug type as the United Kingdom.

If you're traveling from overseas, please remember to bring an adaptor if required.

CURRENCY

Hong Kong uses the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD).

Macau's official currency is the Macanese Pataca (MOP). Hong Kong Dollars are widely accepted throughout Macau, although change may be given in Macanese Pataca.

Please note that Macanese Pataca is generally not accepted in Hong Kong, so we recommend spending any remaining MOP before returning to Hong Kong or departing Macau.

Major credit cards and contactless payment methods are accepted throughout both destinations.
